DIAMOND DIARY: Luxury, Subculture, and a Little Bit of Chaos

Dear Diamond Diary,

Styling a Luxe Punk Shoot

I recently styled a shoot for Tom Warr x Blue Tit, diving into the world of subculture fashion — everything from goth to skinhead to club kid energy.

The goal? To elevate these raw influences into something contemporary and bold.

I’m calling it 'editorial punk': a blend of corseted silhouettes, sheer textures, luxurious detailing, and an unmistakable punk spirit.

While digging into research, I found myself constantly returning to John Galliano’s archives — from his extravagant early collections to more modern reinventions. His knack for layering and storytelling chaos inspired the way I built these looks on set!

Corsets, sheer fabrics and DRAMA. No, I’m not talking about myself… although if the shoe fits hahaa. I have a ton of content from this project and I can’t wait to share more — this one’s a special one.

Sourcing across London was a full adventure in itself — and somewhere along the way, I stumbled across a pair of green cowboy boots that basically had my name on them. Some things are just meant to be 💚.

Honest High Street Haul

I also recently dropped a couple of try-on videos for a few House of Holland suits — pieces I’d had my eye on for a while.

Sadly, the fit wasn’t quite what I’d hoped for, and it seems many of you agreed!

I’m planning to continue the #honesthighstreethaul series — so if there’s a brand you think I should review next, feel free to send suggestions my way.

DIY Studio Updates

During the Blue Tit shoot, my lovely assistant captured some brilliant behind-the-scenes polaroids. Rather than buying a new frame(s) to stick them up in the studio, I repurposed an old plastic framed corkboard — reshaped it, resprayed it, and gave it a new life!

Now it fits the vibe of the studio space perfectly — a super simple DIY that cost next to nothing. The Millie Diamond glow up treatment!

Exploring the UK Fetish Archive & Brick Lane

A visit to the the Bishopsgate Institute to explore the UK Fetish Archive gave me so much cool and unusual inspiration!

From vintage catalogues to spiked ankle restraints, I spent a good couple of hours soaking up the BDSM vibes - from harnesses and hardware to the baddest boots in town. I'm still dreaming of this black boot with studded hardware that I found in one of the old catalogues…ummmmm how and where do i apply?

And, because you can’t go to Brick Lane without a quick vintage hunt, I stopped into Crisis and the charity shop gods delivered a pair of Chloé boots. I’m convinced it’s a karmic reward at this point 👢.

A Little Teaser

If you caught my stories earlier this week — no, I wasn’t running a Victorian brothel (thanks for the votes though), and I wasn’t just taking the bins out either.

I was filming a Met Gala-inspired look featuring one of the most incredible pieces I’ve styled lately.

I’ll be posting it very soon — it’s dramatic, a little chaotic, and very me. Watch this space.

Thanks for reading and following along — more projects coming soon.

Big love,

xM💎
