SPACE AGE STYLE

Before I had a studio, a team, or a jumbo pack of safety pins attached to my person(!), I styled this shoot.

One of the very first shoots I ever worked on — all reflective fabrics, neon lighting, and metallic accessories. At the time, I didn’t know the language of creative direction or “editorial styling” — I just knew I wanted to create characters, build moods, and tell stories through clothes.
This one landed somewhere between space cadet and alien princess. Chrome, vinyl, iridescence, metallic platforms. Futuristic but nostalgic.
Looking back, I can see the DNA of what I still love now:
Styling that hints at story, not just trend
Creating visual mood without relying on expensive sets
Trusting instinct over perfection
Pulling from references without being ruled by them
Letting weirdness in, even when it’s subtle
The soundtrack? Spaceman by Babylon Zoo — obviously.
This was YEARS ago now, and not everything was polished. But that wasn’t the point. This was pure instinct, and instinct is still my favourite material to work with.
If you’re working on a shoot or creative concept and want to collaborate, especially if you need narrative styling or visual development... drop me a message!
I’m always up for building something from the ground up.
