DIAMOND DIARY: Polishing a Turd (and Other Sick Week Miracles)

Dear Diamond Diary,

Well… this week was a write-off. I got properly sick (an ongoing virus struggle got the better of me) and was forced to take my foot off the gas. Between fashion work, interiors projects and prepping to launch a new dog-focused business, I’ve been in full-throttle mode — so slowing down wasn’t exactly on the plan. But my body had other ideas.

So… what does one do when stuck on the sofa for five days straight?

Online Shopping (aka Vinted Addiction):

With nothing else to do, I took the plunge into the Vinted void and — no regrets. Picked up a few great bits: a pair of classic Underground creepers, some Marc Jacobs Kiki-a-likes, and a few other bargains I’ll show off in due course. Retail therapy? Yes. Controlled spending? Kind of... yes?

Pinterest Black Hole:

Couldn’t physically create this week, so I scrolled. A lot. Pinterest never fails — I got obsessed with eye focused style details and off-kilter colour palettes. Filing that away for future styling ideas.

Series Binging — Cultural + Style Research (sort of):

Rewatched Pistol, the gritty, chaotic retelling of the Sex Pistols’ rise and crash. Malcolm Mclaren, early Vivienne Westwood, all the madness of 70s punk. Honestly, it should be required viewing for anyone in fashion. History, rebellion, and looks for days.

Fresh Air Cameo Appearance:

By the weekend I was upright enough to shuffle down the street with the dogs. My new business (more on that very soon) needed a quick content clip, so I changed out of my 5-day infused tracksuit, slapped on some makeup, and made it happen. You can polish a turd, apparently.

Shop Pick of the Week:

I’ve got to shout out this stunning Italian leather trench I found in Florence, Italy. Deep brown, buttery soft, vintage cut — and an absolute bargain for whoever grabs it first. Worth keeping an eye on my shop updates if you’re after statement outerwear. Pair this baby with the acid etch purse for a leather luxe look.

All in all: a strange, slow, but still oddly creative week. Hopefully next one brings better health… and a little Vinted haul try-on of course.
